I'm now 30 and suffering for the second time around. It took 12 years of suffering with "just period pain, you'll grow out of it" to get a lap and a proper diagnosis. Had minor endo and adhesions which were dealt with at the time. Then 2 pain free years and then wham! its back again. It took 12 long painful months and after tears and tantrums at my gp I saw my gynae who immediatley agreed to a second lap, which was Sept 2009. The good news was that there was no new endo, just plenty of old stuff that was excised, some old scar tissue that was removed, and even better my ovaries and tubes are functioning normally so I have the mirena in. I'm now just taking each day at a time, recovering slowly but surely. I have a very understading male boss which really does help staying at work on the bad days.
I'm just looking forward to the painfree days again not worrying about not carrying painkillers with me, not caring about how I sleep incase it hurts, and maybe one day getting around to ttc, but that will be a while yet, we are too poor atm, and I am blessed with a lovely 11 year old step daughter that we see every other weekend.
